New Horizons Level 4 Collaborative Lounge Monash University Clayton Campus.

On 30 June, the ARC Research Hub in Cyber-Farming for Sustainable and Resilient Agriculture was proud to step up as a key partner alongside the Engineers Australia Victoria Division to host the latest Suburban Engineering Series. Held at the New Horizons Collaboration Lounge, the event brought together industry professionals, academic stakeholders, and students to explore the cutting edge of robotics and automation.

The absolute highlight of the evening was a live demo of the 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 (𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐒) 𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐭, a remarkable project that won the 2023 Project of the Year VIC Award. Led by our very own Hub Director, Professor Chao Chen, this initiative perfectly demonstrates how next-generation smart farming technologies are translating into real-world impact.

Here is a quick wrap-up of what made the evening so special:

*𝐃𝐲𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: Professor Mahmoud Mostafavi joined the speakers on stage, sparking brilliant questions from the audience about the technology on display.
*𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 & 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: We heard vital updates on professional priorities and engineering advocacy from Kate Kennedy and Simon Jemison.
*𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬: A passionate group of HDR students and researchers were out in full force to network and engage with the broader engineering community.

A massive thank you to the team at Engineers Australia Victoria Division Jerry Andrews Vinay Adithya Subrahmanya, our fantastic speakers, the student ambassadors, and everyone who came out to share their insights.
