Dr Lei Cui

CI Cui (Senior Lecturer, School of Civil & Mechanical Engineering, Curtin University) is a roboticist specializing in the design and development of novel robots and sensing technologies for various applications. He received the prestigious ASME Journal of Mechanical Design Editors’ Choice Paper Award in 2018 and was a 2016 IROS Best Paper Finalist. From 2017 to 2020, he held an ARC DECRA fellowship. His research has been published in leading journals such as IEEE Transactions on Robotics, ASME Journal of Mechanical Design, and ASME Journal of Mechanisms and Robotics. He also led a team that won the Autonomous Robotic Manipulation (ARM) Project competition organized by DARPA, where a manipulator, with minimal supervision, carried out high-level tasks, interacted intelligently with its surroundings, and adapted to real-world environments.
